St. Kitts

I finally arrived in St. Kitts and it has been a whirlwind! From the moment I got off the plane I feel like I have been going non stop. But this was to be expected. I am trying to adjust to living in a different country, trying to make new friends and trying to make a life for myself here. I cant wait to start classes because I think things will settle down then. I have been enjoying my time with my mom and Jim, I am so glad they came I could NOT have done it with out them! They are the best and I appreciate all they have done for me thus far. Yesterday was the highlight of my new life here by far. I got to feed wild monkeys bananas and then when I was laying on the beach I got to take pictures with a monkey!! Her name was cindy and she was the pet of a local! It was amazing! Each day I feel a little bit more comfortable in this country, and hopefully by semesters end I will be just fine. However it was quite the culture shock for me when I rode into campus. The downtown is very congested with cars, people and shacks and stray animals. I am still having trouble adjusting to the way the downtown looks and how the people here live. Well I have to go get ready for orientation. Lectures this afternoon then we are going Zip lining!!!! CRAZY! pictures to follow! here is a link to my online web album with pictures!
