Funny story. Let me tell you. So I woke up this morning, had my coffee and read some notes in my bed. I then decided I should go shower to get ready to go to the "Zoo" cleanout today (more about that later). I went in the bathroom and saw something scurry across the floor. I screamed thinking it was a centipede and immediately went to go find the biggest book I could(to kill it, they bite here). I then went slowly back into the bathroom only to discover that the centipede was in fact a crab. So I screamed a little more and ran to call mom and Jim. They did not answer. I didn't call Chris because I knew he was still sleeping, so I called Lovey and Uncle. They tell me to trap the crab in a box, but I was like I don't have a box. What do I do?? So I get off the phone and think for a minute and decide to use my box with all of the dog bones in it to capture the crab. (not that having a box of bones in my room isn't creepy either). So I empty the box, go to the bathroom and find the crab. I had to persuade him into the box, but I finally did it. I captured him and then released him outside. Whew....what a morning. All I can say is thank God it wasn't a centipede because I probably would have cried. And yes...I want to be a veterinarian. and yes...I'm slightly afraid of creepy crawly things.

Now about the "Zoo" cleanout. So I'm in the ZEW club and today was zoo cleanout. So my friend Melanie and I went together. Now this zoo isn't really zoo. It is a locals personal collection of monkeys, chickens, turtles, ducks, mongoose, swans, and iguanas. The students on campus help him with his animals to make sure he is feeding them properly and taking good care of him. So we went to go clean out their cages today and feed them. It was fun, but quite the experience. The guy also has a personal antique collection of old toasters, waffle irons, light bulbs ...you name it. So mixed in with these animals are antiques and odds and ends. Only a picture could truly capture what I'm trying to say except we were not aloud to take pictures. There was no picture taking whatsoever, signs posted everywhere. Ha. Don't know why either...I mean it IS a zoo.
Anyway all I can say is I am experiencing more than I ever could have imagined here on the island of St. Kitts. All I want to know is... where is my prize? I should get a prize for this! :)
I am LOL - you paint quite a picture of "island life" - but I am glad you a going to be a veterinarian and not a spelling teacher, cuz there were a few spelling suprises in their too!!!!
